Blrck iiJ 1 mm E sat esrtfc aa sa son e bq t Midi August 28 thru September 3 Jesus Festival involves the creative arts Discovery 80, the only Jesus festival involving all the creative arts to ever be held in the United States, is beginning to draw registrations from all over the Southeast. Scheduled for October 10 -12 at the Brevard Music Center in Brevard, the event, according to Chuck Morgan, Executive Director, "promises to be one of the most exciting, annual events to take place in the Southeast" As the first such event of its kind, it will feature as one of its key note speakers, Dr. Melvin Lorentzen, Assistant Director of the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College in Illinois. Dr. Lorentzen is also the founder-Executive Director of the Bedford Center for Creative Study. He has numerous materials published with Scripture Press, David C. Cook, and Baptist World Alliance, and was collaborating author of The Ethics of Smuggling, by Brother Andrew, Pale Moon, by Princess Pale Moon, and How To Win The War, by David Watson. With extensive experience as a writer and as a teacher of creative writing, Dr. Lorentzen will lead two seminars in addition to his addresses from the platform and, according to Morgan, "adds a dimension of ex cellance not easily found anywhere." Morgan said, "Interest is really building in Charlotte and Atlanta. After having been interviewed by stations in both cities, and after meeting with some key church leaders in Atlanta, we are expecting this to be one cf the highest impact events to take place in the Southeast." "The event," Morgan explained, "will be similar to the one held in Estees Park, Colorado, where Cam Floria of the Continentals seeks to minister to the artist by bringing him together with various other artists for a time of mutual learning and enjoyment The public is invited to 'get in on the event and learn right along with the artists. The dif ference'continued Morgan," is that this festival involves all the creative arts. not just music and drama. It therefore, has more to offer to both the public and the artist than any other festival to date." For those interested, advance tickets for the entire three days are available before September 10 for $18, children 6-12 for $5. Included in the price of the ticket is a place to camp in the Pisgah National Forest and all scheduled per formances and seminars. Persons needing more information can write Creative Ministries.
